Sk & Sea is an importer, seller and servicer of BRP recreational vehicles for Slovenia and other former Yugoslav republics, as well as Albania. The company has been in the business of selling top-quality BRP products such as snowmobiles, ATV's, jet ski's, and other adrenalin and recreational vehicles. You can find their products on ski slopes, race tracks, snowy off-road courses, in the sea and more. They're being used by the military, police, first responders and the Red Cross.

Together with her partner Tomaž Sorčan, Ksenija Povše has been leading the successful and growing company with 23 employees for more than 20 years. According to the lastest bizi.si data, revenue and profits have been growing steadily for the last 5 years, which leads to a great credit rating. The company has received many awards – for best retailer, distributer and service specialist, as well as for their state of the art distribution center, which spans over 2,600 square meters. Ksenija Povše was also Female Entrepreneur of the year in 2019, the award was given to her by 500 of her peers, mainly because she "has been leading her company over the course of the last 5 years in fields of employment, export, sales and has always had a profitable fiscal year". Given that Ski&Sea sells outdoor lifestyle products, Ksenija actively those, and in order to refill her batteries she regularly visits the gym and goes on vacation with her children.

Many would say that selling adrenaline vehicles is a male-dominated field. Judging by Ski&Sea's CEO's numerous media appearances and awards, that is clearly not the case. Where does she find the motivation? She says that the company is constantly being motivated by new products developed by their supplier, but mostly by satisfied, loyal customers. Given that they sale adrenaline products, they're never short on adrenaline in their line of work.

Their customers include law enforcement, armed forces, as well as olive oil manufacturers
Their buyers are as diverse as their products. Ksenija says that they value all markets, i.e. all former Yugoslav republics and Albania. They sell to casual as well as professional buyers, the latter includes oil manufacturers, tourist farms, hunters, fishermen, vine makers, as well as telecommunication companies, electricity providers, mountain rescuers, law enforcement, armed forces and firefighters.

They don't just sell products, they sell experiences
Business is not just success, it's also a constant challenge. Their biggest challenge is to present non-essential products to their customers, that those said products are suitable for recreation, enjoyment and a break from hard everyday work. They've achieved that by organizing various events throughout the region, presenting Can-Am ATV's, Sea-Doo personal watercraft, as well as Ryker and Spyder trikes. While they've abandoned selling snowmobiles in Slovenia, they will begin selling them in Bosnia, Serbia and Montenegro. That such events can be effective marketing tools has also been noticed by one of their manufacturers, so Ski&Sea organized a BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products) media event in Dubrovnik, where they showed not only their products, but also how active, fun, full of adrenaline and exciting time with those products can be and what kind of experiences they can provide for the individual.

They will probably soon be able to recover the loss of revenue caused by the pandemic
Over the course of the coronavirus pandemic the company has been working almost as usual, first only as a distributer, given that their salon has been closed due to the nation wide decree. After the decree has been lifted they're reopened the salon and have stared to conduct business in the same manner as before the pandemic. They've suffered a slight decline in revenue in March and somewhat in April, which they will likely compensate for by the end of May.

Those who love their work will also be positive towards customers
Some Ski&Sea employees have been with the company for more than a decade. According to the CEO they tend to employ positively minded people, given that people spend most of the day at work and are also aware how important cooperation and helping colleagues is., "As we like to joke, we sell toys, happiness for when we have some free time, so it wouldn't make sense for us not to be happy at work".

They're aware of the fact that each company is as good as it's employees are, so it's in their interest to have good workers, motived by their jobs, as that is the only way their productivity and positive attitude towards customers.

To believe and suceed
When asked if she agrees that companies, led by women, are above average in terms of their effectiveness and financially more stable, she replies: "Our goal is to be profitable and we're trying to take advantage of each and every opportunity given to us.. In business people, quality work and attitude are what matters the most " According to Ksenija Povše her and her partner's biggest pride is "believing in the business and giving it all to be successful, and most of all keeping our clients happy. We made it and we will keep trying out new ideas, new approaches and we'll keep adjust to the challenges given to us in the future".

And what's the one most important thing in business?
"Finding business opportunities, taking advantage of them and enjoy doing it."
