Snowmobiles are here: are we not good as Swedes, Austrians, Macedonians, Serbs,...?

In Večer You can read an article about problem of legislation in Slovenia which disable driving with snowmobiles and consequently tourism is not developing. In most European countries such as Sweden, Austria, North Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Scandinavian countries and others is allowed to drive with snowmobile so consequently a lot of rental centers, which offer quality entertainment on snow, develope. In Finnish Lappland most of population has rental centers as a main income. Slovenians are every winter deprived for this kind of fun... Is this going to change in the future?
Winter and all the winter joy is in front of us. There will be red cheekbones, hills of Pohorje will be alive again. We will make ourself warm with tea and mulled wine. And again there will be snowmobiles which leads to gaining grey hair of self-appointed guardians of Pohorje. We can expect resistance of conservative environmentalists and letters of those who see Pohorje only for hiking. We will see television contribution and read few articles about it. Police will make some control but violation will not be found or the number of it will be negligible.

We can´t imagine Pohorje when there is not skiing, cycling and hiking. We have too little imagination, ideas and knowledge. If there is somebody with some new idea we quick silence their dreams. We want development and progress and we work hard to not reach them. One of this ideas is tourism of snowmobiles. There are always some people who are against it. Reasons are noise, pollution and scaring animals.

Sweden is as a country for sure on the world top when it comes to environmental awareness. Environmental Performance Index (EPI) rank it to fifth place, right after Switzerland, France, Denmark and Malta. Slovenia is on 34. place. Just like in Slovenia, few years ago they also persecuted snowmobile drivers in Sweden. But then they became to see tourism potencial in it. Few municipalities and European Regional Development Fund with other Companies contributed half million euros. With this budget they started 2 years project with one goal: develop of sustainable tourism.
Tourism of snowmobiles is suitable challenge for partnership. Some of European countries got European Fund for tourism development, why can´t we get it?
